NSE Nifty 50 gained 47 points and closed at 17,516 levels, while BSE Sensex rose 157 points and closed at 58,807 levels. According to equity market experts, these trends indicate that there will likely be a possibility of a small downward correction or consolidation in the next session.
A day when the volumes on the NSE were in line with recent averages; the indices of capital goods, telecommunications and consumer goods increased the most, while the indices of banks and durable consumer goods fell the most. The BSE Smallcap index rose 0.80% while the BSE Midcap index rose 0.38%.
